Customer Counter Staff - Part-time Positions Available
The Humble Lotus is looking for personable Customer Counter Staff to welcome our guests in a friendly, polite manner while providing outstanding and memorable customer service. The Customer Counter Staff’s responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, attending to customers’ requests, serving food or packaging it for takeaway and delivery, and accepting payments.
To be successful as Customer Counter Staff, you will carefully listen to customers to ensure accuracy when taking requests and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities. A top-notch counter attendant should always strive to deliver outstanding customer service.
Customer Counter Staff Responsibilities:
- Entering each shift with a positive outlook.
- Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome.
- Answering questions about the menu, and making note of special requests, if required.
- Listening to the A-La-Cart orders and packing into containers.
- Communicating with the kitchen staff on items that need to be prepared as items get low on stock.
- Assembling and packaging pre-made takeaway containers.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters and self-serve areas clean, checking on washroom cleanliness.
- Replenishing food supplies (takeaway containers, napkins, cutlery etc.) when required.
- Presenting customers with the bill and processing payments.
- Complying with company policies as well as Health and Safety guidelines.
Customer Counter Staff Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous customer service experience in a restaurant or food retailer is preferred.
- Working knowledge of promoting, selling, and packaging food products.
- The ability to process bills and cash registers.
- Experience working with POS systems.
- The ability to adhere to and uphold sanitization standards.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and a polite and friendly demeanour.

Kitchen Staff - Full and Part-time Positions Available
The Humble Lotus is looking for hard-working Kitchen Staff members to assist with food preparation, cooking, dishwashing and other back-of-house tasks. In addition to food preparation including washing and chopping produce and cooking. Kitchen Staff are responsible for washing dishes and keeping the kitchen areas and equipment clean throughout your shift.
A restaurant kitchen can be a high-stress environment, so we prefer applicants who have some prior experience. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 60 lbs.
Kitchen Staff Duties and Responsibilities
- Food preparation and cooking
- Keep kitchen areas and equipment clean
- Wash utensils and dishes
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Kitchen Staff Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Culinary school diploma or certificate (preferred)
- Some kitchen experience preferred
- Safe food handling certification preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience of sushi and other asian cuisines an asset
- Ability to stand for a long periods of time
- Ability to lift 60-75 lbs.
